It is always good to spread more seed if your lawn is sparse, stressed, or being invaded by weeds, disease, or insects. The best time to spread seed is late summer to early fall. It is a good idea to spread immediately after dethatching or aerating. This way your grass seed stays where it is supposed to and doesn’t blow into your neighbor’s yard!
